Dr Ricardo Fontoura graduated from dental school at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA and completed his pediatric residency with New York University. Dr Fontoura had the opportunity to practice as a general dentist prior to specializing which has given him the unique perspective of other facets of dentistry and multi-disciplinary approach to patient care. Dr. Fontoura is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr Fontoura was born in Brazil. His family immigrated the USA when he was a child and he was raised in the greater Daytona Beach area. He has lived all over the United States from New England, Mid-Atlantic, Pacific Northwest and the West Coast. Despite enjoying experiencing much of what our beautiful country’s landscape has to offer, Dr Fontoura and his family call Florida home. Before attending college, Dr. Fontoura served a 2-year Spanish-speaking mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is fluent in both Portuguese and Spanish.
Dr Fontoura loves spending time outdoors with his family swimming, hiking, camping, and fishing. Despite his busy schedule Dr Fontoura also proudly serves as a Captain in the US Army Reserves caring for and treating our soldiers. His most important accomplishment is being a husband and a father to four very clever and active children.
